las vegas free people wedding with boho details | historic fifth street school

morgan + erick

From the bride: "We went with a modern, natural look… minimal, indie-ish, boho. Our colors were mostly jewel-tones. We DIYed candles for our wedding favors! And our backdrop, my husband built out of old pallets, as well as our cake stand. Our wedding stood out from the crowd because of our location — though we were in Vegas, it just didn’t feel like you were in the middle of a big city. We used a lot of different greens for our table runners and arches, like ferns and different types of eucalyptus. For my bouquet, my focal point was a protea, the rest was dahlias, eucalyptus, and some other random things. My bridesmaids had the same bouquets minus the protea. My flower crown was eucalyptus and peonies. My favorite memory was our first look, it was very calming for me, and if we hadn’t done that, I think I would have lost it at the “altar.” Also, I loved our photobooth, so fun."

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? "Hmm, some advice, use all the help you can get! If you have the money, please do find an amazing photographer, it is worth it!! Every penny! Gaby, I can’t say enough good things about her. Also make sure to have a great support group, aka bridesmaids; they are what keeps you glued together through all the emotions."

Ashley's sweet proposal story... "On my the morning of my 28th birthday he had me open a gift. It was a pair of Nikes that I absolutely did not like. He knows how much I cant stand pink, so he boxed up a pair of hot pink gym shoes for me to open. I did my best in playing off the disappointment by training the shoes on. I couldn't get my right foot inside the shoe because something what stuck inside of it. BJ kneeled down to help me remove the shoe and it turns out he had placed a ring box inside of it. At that point he opened the box, and proposed to me on one knee. I was elated and obviously, said yes. That day I got to show off my beautiful engagement ring at Nahlia's birthday party and celebrate with all of our family and friends." le sigh!
